My daughter has attended Clifton Day Nursery since she was 9 months old and she has thrived in the small caring nursery. We often comment that it is like her second home and she is so happy and content there. There is a real sense of love and care and the team strive to help the children play and learn.
My little man started going to the nursery at 2 years old for 2 morning a week. He loves it so much and his speech and ability to share came on in leaps and bounds, so after a few months we increased it to 3 mornings. He always eats the food there and is never dirty when I pick him up. I’m sure if it would be up to him he would spend the whole day there. The staff are really friendly and keep us updated on his progress.
Such a lovely nursery, both our children have gone here and flourished. Even after moving to the other side of York, we still continue to use this nursery. A more loving, caring and personal nursery you will not find. Clifton Day Nursery really deserves to be recognised for the work they do. They are Fantastic.

Muddy boots is a fabulous nursery, a wonderful outdoor setting with lots to occupy and educate little ones. They set the children up for school perfectly, our eldest felt prepared, excited and had a head start on numbers and phonics when he started this September. Our youngest loves digging in the allotments, gets stuck in with all the super messy play and building obstacle courses.
As a family we absolutely love Muddy Boots. The staff are so enthusiastic and caring with the children. Our two boys have thrived whilst going to their nursery sessions. They have formed such special bonds with their key workers,
This is a little bit of a love letter to Muddy Boots. We really enjoy our girls being there for multiple reasons, but mainly it’s the people… They are just brilliant

Welcome to Walmgate Day Nursery Ltd, we are a 42 place day nursery situated in the historic part of York known as Walmgate, which is a short walk from the City Centre. The building is several hundred years old but has been converted to form a modern day care facility that meets all requirements, yet retains character and a nice homely feel. As we are in a centre location we only have a small outdoor play area but this has been designed to maximise the use of space.
