Friendly staff who are willing to answer questions about the menu and make recommendations. We had a cheese scone and a fruit scone, with a pot of Assam tea and a hot chocolate. The scones were large, soft and warm – perfect for a wet and windy day.

I am a huge #Scone lover and this was absolutely the best one I have ever had! The place was really cute with plenty of indoor spaces overlooking „The Shambles” ✨ We also couldn’t resist taking a box of 4 scones with us back home.

Giving this 5 stars as the scone was so delicious, served warm with cream and jam and it was also great that they called us when they had a table free as they were full up when we first arrived. It’s in an old, characterful building, right by The Shambles. We loved sitting upstairs looking out over the market. The service was a little haphazard as they brought an extra drink we hadn’t ordered and also forgot the milk for our tea, but can’t moan because the scones are soooo good! The brownies also look very tempting.

Stumbled upon this cafe cold and hungry while looking for somewhere not too busy which had hot gluten and dairy free options. Lovely friendly welcoming waitress. Delicious chickpea and harissa soup hit the spot. Tables well spaced. Christmas wreath making on the way in. No pics of the soup I was so hungry but took a pic of my hubby’s flat white which was brought to our table within a couple of minutes of ordering. Highly recommend.
Really nice and cozy, polite waiters, my smoothie was excellent, coffee for my wife and friend was also good. Croissant was okay. Although we didn’t order we were told by friend about possible mix up of bacon in vegetarian food. It’s all new and has nice decor.
The perfect cafe to take your laptop to and enjoy some healthy (& affordable!) food and good wifi! The Golden Milk latte was one of the best turmeric lattes I’d ever had- so spicy and not too sweet. The staff are so friendly, and the wifi is unusually fast for York.

Amazing place with amazing people. I really enjoyed the conversation that I had with the workers and locals that visit this shop. Very reasonably priced and very nice quality food and coffees!
Popped in whilst on a huge cycle ride and refulled with coffee pepsi a sandwich and piece of cake all for 7.50. Amazingly good value for a venue right in the town centre. A nice little area to sit outside and very very friendly staff. Can’t really ask for more nothing fancy no frills just great value. Very happy with my visit I couldn’t of asked for more
All day breakfast for £6 was fresh tasty and good quality produce. Friendly staff and clean and tidy environment. Would recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐
