We stayed two nights the room was very comfortable and brilliantly clean. The breakfasts menu had excellent choices nothing was too much if you needed something extra. Mick the host and Ruth were lovley people and made us feel very welcome. We would certainly stay their again when we visit York next time.

We have just got back from a two night stay at the Bronte and it’s the best guest house in York we’ve stayed in. Very friendly, nothing was any trouble, absolutely immaculately clean, comfy bed, quiet and gorgeous breakfast.

Absolutely lovely stay here over the weekend! Breakfast was excellent to.

What We Offer:

We started the guesthouse in June 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Jamie is a Yorkshireman who understands the history of this great city and Fran, like the Romans many years before, voyaged over from Italy when she was only 17 and now calls York her home. The building dates back to 1880 and has a wonderful charm. It has been a guesthouse since 1950 so it’s a very welcoming house. The attention to detail, good hearty breakfasts and the little extra touches.

What a wonderful place. So clean, tidy & welcoming. The breakfast selection was amazing, and the little extra touches were appreciated. The almond croissant at breakfast was beautiful! The room was so comfortable and a great size – we stayed in Ebor, the self contained apartment for two nights. We’ll definately be back
Ok. 2 Criticisms. 1. There Should be 2 Sausages with Breakfast. Not 1. 2. The Shower in my Room was a Touch Small. Now. The B and B is Easy to find and close enough to City Centre and Train Station. The Breakfast is Amazing. Absolutely 
Excellent place to stay close to the centre of York. Jamie & Fran were lovely, great breakfast! Would definitely stay here again.

I’ve booked to stay here next month ! I liked their rates which first attracted me & looked into it & I like the fact that they’re long established from Victorian times with some traditional furniture / decor but looks a tastefully done mix 
Stayed for 3 nights. Lovely location with nice stroll into city. Also close to Rowntree Park which is worth a visit. I love York and this is the best place I have found to stay. On a quiet road and only 12 minutes walk from railway station …
The breakfast was fantastic and the welcome was 5 star we had a great time and if I was to visit York again then this guesthouse would definitely be my first call. The owner was a great help with places to see and public transport to take fantastic.
