My daughter has been attending YRAD since 2019. The teachers are lovely and she really enjoys her ballet lessons. They are very professional and encourage the children to try their best, instilling confidence as well as developing their dancing skills. Their continuation of classes over Zoom together with the community events they’ve organised during lockdown show their dedication to the children they teach and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dance class for their child.
YRAD is an amazing dance school you make loads of new friends really easily, the teachers are lovely, amazing at teaching and make all lessons fun. The atmosphere is so great we are like a big family and it is a place of hard work and you can have a good time. i joined 4.5 years ago and instantly loved it. i definitely recommend going to this dance school at any age.
Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance is a brilliant dance school. The teachers are fantastic and deliver fun lessons that really help the develop skills. The online lessons have been great all through lockdown and the extra dance family social group with plenty of fun activities on a Saturday has given the children a fantastic opportunity to feel part of a dancing community. I would definitely recommend YRAD.

What We Offer:
Northern Dance Academy offers a wide range of dance classes for children & adults. At NDA we provide ISTD Imperial Ballet & Tap syllabus classes where students are able to work towards & take examinations. The Imperial Society of Teachers for Dancing (ISTD) is a highly reputable examination board renowned for its high standards throughout the World.  For those students who do not wish to take examination classes, we also offer Classical Ballet, Tap, Lyrical & Contemporary dance technique classes for children & adults. .

My daughter started contemporary dance with Northern Dance Academy in September and absolutely loves it! So much so that she’s also just started ballet too. Dance lessons are a holiday in her week. Sarah is a friendly and patient teacher and treats her young dancers with respect and care. She also puts a tremendous energy in organising performances and preparing her students well, enabling them all to shine!
Sarah is really warm and friendly. She obviously puts a lot into the school and cares about the students. My daughter loves attending her classes and likes to show off what she’s learned. The performances I saw last year were impressive. Everyone clearly put in lots of hard work and had fun too
Sarah has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of dance that means as a student I get so much out of her lessons. Her attention to each individual’s limits and capabilities means that in every class you receive personal feedback and constant improvement. All of the NDA teachers and highly trained, enthusiastic and hard working.

What We Offer:

We are a York-based dance school that offers classes in ISTD Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern Theatre Dance and Contemporary Dance, as well as Drama and Musical Theatre. Our classes run out of either a purpose-built dance studio on James Street, York, YO10 3DW  which is fully equipped with mirrors, ballet barres and a shock absorbent, non-slip dance floor. In 2017, due to retirement Katie Ventress School of Dance have incorporated the formally known as Red Shoes Dance company into the school.
