Binnington & Thurling is without doubt the best opticians in York offering exceptional standards of care. Over the last few years I have had problems with my eyes and the care and attention I’ve received from them has been outstanding.
I have just had a new set of multi focal contact lenses and a pair of glasses prescribed by Binnington & Thurling and am absolutely delighted with them. I have a complex prescription and was once told by a different optician (a large chain) that I have “difficult eyes”, but this poses no problem for Binnington & Thurlington as both of the optometrists I have seen are very highly skilled and offer a personalised service to meet individual needs
This is a fantastic place. Personal touch, staff who bend over backwards to help etc. This week the optician changed his lunchtime and three receptionists called me back to try and fix up a cancellation appt. Would go here over a national company any day.

It was so difficult to get a hearing test for my 13 year old daughter, we were advised to see John at Viewpoint. John the Audiologist offered the most helpful and professional service I have experienced in a very long time. I would highly recommend to anybody who has any questions or concerns about their hearing.

This was the first time I didn’t go to one of the big chain opticians, where I was beginning to feel like a product on a factory conveyor belt. The experience at Rae & Rae was utterly different. And 100% better.
I have had three eye tests in the space of a couple of months. My eye tests at previous places felt really rushed and I never trusted my prescription as they were different at all three places! At Rae and Rae, it was not rushed. Georgia took the time to understand my eye history and explain my prescription to me. I will come here every time now.
Fantastic opticians offering a professional and personal range of services. Leslie was very knowledgeable when helping me select my new glasses. They stock an excellent range including several sustainability-based brands. Very highly recommended.
