We’ve done all of their rooms now and all were great. All unique with great puzzles. Prompts when needed/asked for. A wonderful idea for parties or just a fun weekend activity. One minor complaint, they just need some new rooms for us to come back again! Highly recommended.
Kaali and the team were so helpful, giving us little prompts when we needed them but without overdoing it so we could figure most clues out for ourselves.
My son and I did one of the escape rooms. What great fun. It was difficult enough to challenge us, but easy enough to work out (with a few hints). This is a great multigenerational game or brilliant for team building. Will be back soon to try another one.

We booked a last-minute escape room here, looking for something fun to do after dinner, and are super glad we chose CYE! This was my partner’s first escape room, but I’ve done a handful before, and the puzzles in this one were great. The room design was clever, we enjoyed the story, and Jake who took us through the experience was just so brilliant! Highly recommended to any escape room lovers (or newbies looking for excitement!), and we’ll hopefully be back next time 🙂
It was a great experience, I went with my partner for a belated birthday present and we were a little unsure if we would be able to solve the escape as it was just the two of us. But we did just about.
Incredible experience! Used as bonding for a Bride and her Bridesmaids. The room was interesting, well thought-out and so methodical. Great for beginners and more experienced people to an escape room! An absolute must try if you stay in York.

What We Offer:

In our series of unique games, each group is placed in a room and given a set amount of time to escape by solving puzzles, using strategy, creativity and logic. The goal is simple; to get out in time! We have games which are designed specifically for teams of 2-6 players, and all take place in a custom-built, themed escape game room. With five rooms available (one double room of our Cluedo game) at present our capacity is 30 players playing at one time.

We originally booked the escape rooms for March 2020, but for obvious reasons we had to keep rearranging. Mindlock were excellent throughout, remaining incredibly flexible, communicating well, and helpfully providing different options for our group.
Really great friendly staff. We have played two rooms now however I must say dark arts was my favourite! What a fab design!! Great value for money compared to other escape rooms 
Fantastic escape room! Nice, friendly staff who made every effort to make the experience the best it could be. The puzzles & challenges were set our very well. I would certainly go again when visiting York. Highly recommended.
